Visual Programming Language

Any language that uses graphics or blocks already defined with code. You just need to use those blocks without worrying about the lines of code.

Examples

– Scratch for creating, stories,    games, & animations – Blockly for block-based    programming language – mBlock for programming robots – Bubble for web apps – Minibloq as a graphical    programming environment for    Arduino

Applications

VPL can be used in multiple domains like multimedia, educational purpose, video games, automation.

Advantages

– Easy to convert ideas into reality    and then switch to actual coding – Visuals are easy to grasp – Beginner-friendly

Disadvantages

– Require more memory as they use    graphics – Only work in an OS like windows,    mac, or ones that support graphics – Only limited functions are present – Requires coding knowledge to    add a custom block
